1. Introduction

AiGo respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you provide when using the AiGo Passenger app, AiGo Driver app, and the AiGo website.

This policy explains what information may be collected, why it is used, how it may be shared, and what choices are available to users.

📋

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use AiGo, we may collect information such as:

  • Name and mobile phone number
  • Account and profile information
  • Pickup and destination locations
  • Trip, booking and ride history
  • Device, app and technical information
  • Ratings, reports and support messages
  • Driver licence, profile photo and vehicle information for driver accounts
  • For drivers who use Trusted passengers: the phone numbers they add to their own list, together with a name for each one. A driver adds a number either by choosing that person in their phone's own contact picker, by typing the name and number themselves, or with one tap on the rating screen after carrying that passenger. Visible only to that driver, deletable by them at any time, and never shown to the passenger. We never read or upload an address book — see section 5.
⚙️

3. How we use information

Information may be used to:

  • Create and manage user accounts
  • Connect passengers with nearby drivers
  • Process and manage ride bookings
  • Display live location and trip progress
  • Verify drivers and vehicles
  • Improve safety, reliability and app performance
  • Respond to questions, complaints and reports
  • Prevent fraud and misuse of the platform
📍

4. Location information

AiGo uses location information to show nearby vehicles, identify pickup points, provide navigation, estimate distances and support live trip tracking.

Driver location may be used while the driver is online or completing an active trip. Passenger location may be used when browsing, booking or tracking a ride.

You can control location access from your mobile device settings, but some AiGo features may not work correctly when location permission is disabled.
📱

5. Mobile app permissions

📍

Location

Used for pickup points, nearby vehicles, navigation and live tracking.

📷

Camera and photos

Used by drivers to upload profile, licence and vehicle images.

🔔

Notifications

Used for OTP messages, booking updates and trip alerts.

📞

Phone actions

May be used to help passengers and drivers contact each other during trips.

👥

Contacts

AiGo never reads your address book. If a driver chooses to use Trusted passengers, your phone's own contact picker opens and AiGo receives only the contacts actually selected there. We do not ask for contacts permission on Android or iOS, and the rest of your contacts are never seen, uploaded or stored. A driver may also add someone by typing a name and number, which does not touch the address book in either direction: nothing is read from it, and nothing is written to it.

🔄

6. Information sharing

AiGo may share limited information when necessary to provide the service.

  • Passengers and drivers may receive relevant trip details about each other.
  • On a Ride Share trip, passengers sharing that trip may see each other's general pickup and drop-off points, since they travel together.
  • Service providers may process information required for hosting, mapping, messaging or technical support.
  • Information may be shared when required by law or to protect users and the platform.

AiGo does not sell personal information for unrelated advertising purposes.

👨‍👩‍👧

Sharing with your family

If you use My Family, the people you have added to your family can see your live or last known location, whether each of your apps is online, and — while you are on a Ride Share trip — the trip's details, including the other people travelling with you, the vehicle and the pickup and drop-off points. Your saved places are shared with them as context.

Nobody is added to your family without a code we send to their phone and they read out, so this sharing never begins without both of you taking part. A family holds at most five people, and each person can be in only one.

You can turn this off at any time from Settings › Share live details with family, which keeps you in the family but hides everything live; or leave the family entirely, which ends the sharing in both directions. Nobody in a family can remove anybody else.
🔒

7. Data security

AiGo uses reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration.

No online service can guarantee complete security. Users should keep their phone, OTP codes and account access secure.

🗂️

8. Data retention

Information may be retained for as long as needed to provide AiGo services, maintain account records, meet legal requirements, resolve disputes and prevent misuse.

Some records may remain for a limited period after an account is closed where required for safety, legal or operational reasons.

✅

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on the service and applicable rules, users may be able to:

  • Review and update profile information
  • Change app permissions from device settings
  • Request account deletion
  • Contact support regarding personal information
  • Stop using the service at any time
🚌

10. School Van and a child's details

Where a parent or guardian uses School Van, they may enter details about a child: a first name or the name they are known by, their school, their year or grade, an optional note for the driver, and a picture chosen from a set of illustrations provided in the app.

No photographs of children. There is no option to upload a photograph of a child, and AiGo does not ask for one. The picture on a child's card is always a drawing chosen from a fixed set, so that no photograph of a child is stored or shown to anyone.

A child's details are entered by the adult who holds the account, and are shown to the driver of the school van that child is booked on, so that the driver can identify who they are collecting. They are not shown to other parents, to other drivers, or to anyone the child is not booked with. AiGo does not ask for a child's home address, and School Van does not use one: a parent chooses a pickup point, not an address.

Live location during a school run. While a driver is running a leg, their device reports its position so that parents booked on that leg can see the van moving. That position stops being shown as soon as the driver ends the run. A child's own device is not tracked, and AiGo does not collect location from a child.

Live tracking is an aid and may be wrong. The position shown depends on GPS accuracy, network coverage, battery, device settings, background-activity restrictions and whether the driver's app is running. It may be inaccurate, delayed, frozen or entirely unavailable without warning. It is not evidence of where a child or a vehicle is, and must not be relied on as the only way of knowing that a child is safe.

A parent may edit or remove a child at any time from the app. Removing a child ends what is shown to any driver going forward; a record of past bookings may be kept for the reasons set out under data retention.

🧒

11. Children's privacy

AiGo is not intended for children to create and manage independent accounts without appropriate permission or supervision. An AiGo account belongs to an adult.

The one place a child's details appear is School Van, and there they are entered by the parent or guardian who holds the account, for the purpose of a driver identifying the child they are collecting. See School Van and a child's details for exactly what is held, who sees it, and why no photograph of a child is ever stored.

If personal information from a child is believed to have been collected improperly, please contact AiGo support.

📝

12. Changes to this policy

AiGo may update this Privacy Policy when services, legal requirements or platform practices change.

The revised date will be shown at the top of this page. Continued use of AiGo after an update may indicate acceptance of the revised policy.
