1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the AiGo mobile app and related services (the "Service"), operated by AiGo ("AiGo", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using AiGo, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an AiGo account.
  • You sign in using your phone number and a one-time passcode (OTP) — there's no password. You're responsible for keeping access to your phone number secure, and for all activity on your account.
  • You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date.
  • An account can operate as a passenger or switch to driver mode; driver mode additionally requires a real profile photo, a valid driving licence, and vehicle details, and is subject to the verification described in section 5.
  • You may not create an account on behalf of someone else without their permission, or maintain more than one account for the purpose of evading a suspension.

3. The nature of the Service

AiGo is a booking and matching platform: it shows passengers nearby available taxis on a map and lets them request a specific driver. AiGo does not itself provide transportation services. Drivers who use AiGo are independent individuals responsible for their own vehicle, licensing, and conduct — they are not AiGo employees or agents. AiGo does not control, and is not responsible for, the acts or omissions of any driver or passenger.

4. Using AiGo as a passenger

  • You can browse nearby taxis without an account; booking a ride requires signing in.
  • When you book, the driver receives your request and may accept or decline it. A booking isn't confirmed until the driver accepts.
  • You're responsible for providing an accurate pickup location and being ready at the agreed point and time.
  • You can cancel a booking before it's completed; repeated last-minute cancellations may affect your ability to use the Service.
  • If a driver declines your request, they're temporarily hidden from your map view for a short cooldown period so you can find another nearby taxi — this doesn't prevent other passengers from booking that driver.

5. Using AiGo as a driver

  • To accept bookings, you must switch to driver mode, add at least one vehicle, and submit your driving licence (and any other requested documents) for review.
  • An AiGo administrator reviews submitted documents and approves ("verifies") your account before you can go online and receive bookings. AiGo may decline to verify an account, or revoke an existing verification, at its discretion — for example, where documents appear invalid, expired, or where there's a substantiated safety report against you.
  • You're solely responsible for holding a valid driving licence, appropriate vehicle insurance and registration, and complying with all applicable transport laws and regulations in Sri Lanka while using AiGo.
  • Vehicle amenity tags you add (e.g. air-conditioned, EV, wheelchair accessible, pet friendly, child seat, female driver) are self-declared and not independently verified by AiGo — you're responsible for their accuracy.
  • You decide when to go online or offline, and which booking requests to accept or decline. AiGo does not set your working hours or dictate how you conduct your trips.
  • You are responsible for your own tax, licensing, and any other legal obligations arising from providing transportation services.

6. Fares and payment

AiGo does not calculate fares or process any payment. The fare for a trip is determined by the driver's own vehicle meter (or another arrangement agreed directly between passenger and driver) and is paid by the passenger directly to the driver at the end of the trip. AiGo is not a party to that payment and bears no responsibility for fare disputes between a passenger and a driver — such disputes are between those two individuals.

7. Ratings, reviews and reports

After a trip, passengers and drivers may rate each other and leave a written review. Reviews must be honest, based on your own experience, and must not contain harassment, hate speech, or content unrelated to the trip. You can report a trip or another user for safety or conduct concerns; AiGo reviews reports and may take action against an account, including suspension, based on the outcome.

8. Prohibited conduct

When using AiGo, you agree not to:

  • Provide false, misleading, or someone else's identity, licence, or vehicle information.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that endangers another user.
  • Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or act abusively toward another user.
  • Attempt to circumvent driver verification, account suspensions, or safety features.
  • Interfere with, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Service, including scraping data or attempting unauthorised access.
  • Use the Service to solicit or arrange transactions unrelated to a legitimate taxi trip.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. AiGo does not guarantee that a taxi will always be available, that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any driver-declared information (such as amenity tags) is accurate.

Because AiGo is a booking platform and drivers are independent and not AiGo's employees or agents, AiGo is not liable for the conduct of any driver or passenger, the condition of any vehicle, or events occurring during a trip, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable Sri Lankan law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited (for example, liability for AiGo's own fraud or gross negligence).

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold AiGo harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person, to the extent permitted by law.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using AiGo and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, provide false information, pose a safety risk to other users, or for other reasonable cause, with notice where practicable. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (such as the limitation of liability and indemnity sections) will continue to apply.

12. Intellectual property

The AiGo name, logo, app, and related materials are owned by AiGo or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute them without our permission. You retain ownership of content you submit (such as reviews or reports), and grant AiGo a licence to use it to operate and improve the Service.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use AiGo after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of AiGo will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
